1300 Wagon

Site last updated: 27 / 9 / 2004

This Web site features my 1973 model Mazda 1300 Wagon.

What did you do!

Thats what everyone says when they see it! The car is a 1973 model 1300 station wagon. It was originally dark green ( same as my RX3, you can see my other car at "mik20bracing.50megs.com" ). It came complete with no seats, no dash, no door trims, no roof lining, no carpet, no motor, no gearbox, no radiator, no tailshaft, no brake lines, no brake booster, no master cylinder, no bonnet, no grill, no front bumper, no headlights, no front indicators and heaps of other shit was missing. It did come with dog hair, spider webbs, spiders, dents, rust galore, orange painted front and rear windscreens and side glass, painted side indicators, painted door handles, painted, taillights, painted front and rear windscreen rubbers and chromes, slightly pumped rear guards, wide RX4 rear wheels, a facet fuel pump, stock 1300 diff, reversed rear leaves and rotary engine mounts.

I brought the car from my friend Pete's younger brother, Anthony. The was little to pay for the potential this car had, in my eyes anyway. Another mate, Gaetano and i towed the car from Hinchinbrook to Georges Hall ( thanks heaps Gay ). The car will now live in my uncles back yard until i find somewhere to put it, and work has already begun on the beast.

Heart and Soul.

The motor going in this car is a 13B prehipheral port with hi-comp rotors and a modified shaft for more oil flow. Induction will be from either 51mm or 55mm ida style throttle body's on a custom intake manifold ( Long runner, custom throttle body / body's? ). this will all be run via a microtech computer. The motor was in a RX3 coupe in the late 80's, early 90's, the rego plate was "ORX.300", it was canarie yellow with gold mesh simmons ( later the simmons were painted purple ). Anyhow the motor was sold and ended up in my mate Anthony Winters hands, he than sold it to me. The 200 + HP ( + the happy gas ) PP will be backed by a corona 4 speed or celica 5 speed, brass clutch, and heavy duty pressure plate and then, eventually when the funds allow, a 9 inch with 4.5 to 5.1 ratios and billet axles.

Body Beautiful.

* The body on my beast will be repaired by Dave Hudson from Restoremaz in Chipping Norton  (02) 9755 1122. There will be no facy "auto salon" bussiness going on with this car, it will be plain jane and
driveable! ( except for the exhaust noise!!! )
* Ive started to strip all the tar out of the floor and clean all the paint from the glass and off all the chrome work.
* At the moment the RX3 is in full swing so the wagon, unfortunately, is being neglected. My RX3, Pete's RX3, Adrians 808 and Ross's RX3 are all having work done to them so the wagon will just have to wait!

* 4 / 5 / 04 - Dave Has repaired and painted the engine bay. I got him to fit a massive tunnel so playing with it wont be so much of a pain in the ass.

Send me an e-mail

The draggn' waggn'.....

Slowly but surely ill get it finished

The car is fairly straight and not too rusty at all, i've seen much worse repaired. I dont know the history of the car but it did have bodgy rotaryengine mounts welded in the bay and reversed leaf springs. But all will be rectified and redone properly. I couldnt let the car die, just call me a softie!

I aslo have a RX3, to visit that site click below
